Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN Flex Pool nurse for a day shift role requiring an active HI RN license and 2+ years of experience.

Details

  • Flex RN role floating between various medical and surgical units
  • Floats to Medical Unit (77 beds), Laulima Surgical Acute Unit (18 beds), and occasionally Cardiovascular Unit (15 beds)
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios: Medical 1:6 days/eves and 1:8 nights, Laulima 1:6, Cardiovascular 1:4 (ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves)
  • 12-hour day shifts from 0645 to 1915
  • Scheduled 36 hours per week following first week of orientation
  • Uses Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes

Requirements

  • Active HI RN license required by start of assignment, with application required upon acceptance of offer if not already held
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC certifications preferred
  • 2-10 years of nursing experience required
  • Documented proof of immunity required; medical and religious exemptions not accepted

Additional Information

  • RN floats between medical and surgical units as needed
  • Orientation time provided for each unit
  • Professional nursing attire with clean scrubs required
  • Travelers must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to start of assignment for a scheduled appointment
  • Candidates should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to report to Employee Health that Friday morning
