Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Flex Pool night shift position requiring an active HI RN license and 2+ years of experience.

Details

  • Flex RN role floating between various medical and surgical units including Medical, Laulima (Surgical Acute), and occasionally Cardiovascular Unit
  • Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts (1845-0715)
  • Scheduled 36 hours per week following first week of orientation, no guaranteed hours
  • Medical unit nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 (days/eves) and 1:8 (nights)
  • Laulima unit nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
  • Cardiovascular unit nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
  • Ratios may vary due to unexpected staff leaves
  • Uses Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes

Requirements

  • Active HI RN license required by start of assignment, must apply upon offer acceptance if not currently held
  • 2-10 years of relevant nursing experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC certifications preferred
  • Documented proof of immunity required; medical and religious exemptions not accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care across multiple medical and surgical units as part of a flex pool team
  • Unit-specific orientation and training provided
  • Must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to assignment start, typically requiring arrival in Hawaii by the Thursday before a Monday start for a Friday morning appointment
  • Professional nursing attire with clean scrubs required
