Position Overview

San Juan Regional Medical Center is seeking experienced Travel Registered Nurses (RNs) for its Main Endoscopy department. The RN will provide comprehensive care throughout the pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure phases for adult patients undergoing a variety of gastrointestinal procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to adult patients in the Endoscopy department.

  • Prepare patients for procedures, including assessment, IV access, medication administration, and pre-procedure verification.

  • Monitor patients throughout procedures and recognize changes in patient condition promptly.

  • Provide post-procedure recovery care, including assessment of vital signs, airway, pain, sedation recovery, and potential complications.

  • Assist physicians and procedural teams during endoscopic procedures.

  • Demonstrate strong intraprocedure technical experience and familiarity with endoscopy workflows.

  • Assist with procedures including Colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, and Bronchoscopy.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Cerner EHR.

  • Follow infection prevention, sterile technique, and patient safety protocols.

  • Operate and work with Olympus endoscopy equipment as appropriate.

  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, surgical technologists, anesthesia staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

  • May float to Pre-Op when Endoscopy case volume is low.

  • Participate in weekend and evening call as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license.

  • RN degree from an accredited nursing program.

  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience.

  • Previous Endoscopy/Gastroenterology experience strongly required.

  • Intraprocedure technical experience required.

  • Procedural/Endoscopy experience is required.

  • Experience with adult, mid- to high-acuity patients.

  • BLS and ACLS required.

  • Experience with Colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, and/or Bronchoscopy preferred.

  • Experience with Olympus equipment preferred.

  • Cerner experience preferred.

Schedule & Call

  • Days: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

  • 40 hours/week guaranteed

  • Weekend call required

  • Evening call required

  • Potential float to Pre-Op based on department needs
