Emergency Room RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Michigan
• At least 1 year of recent Emergency Room (ER) or Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
• Epic electronic medical record experience preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, alternating weekends, and alternating holidays
• Successful completion of required credentialing and competency verification

Emergency Department Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide timely, evidence-based emergency nursing care to patients presenting with emergent and urgent conditions
• Perform rapid nursing assessments, prioritize care, and recognize changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team during evaluations, procedures, and emergent interventions
• Assist with patient stabilization, continuous monitoring, discharge preparation, and transitions of care
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
• Promote patient safety, comfort, education, and respectful communication throughout the emergency visit
