Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality emergency patient care as a traveling RN in ED.

  • Assess, triage, and document patient conditions accurately and promptly.

  • Manage IVs, medications, and emergency equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Document care and outcomes in electronic health records with accuracy.

  • Coordinate patient handoffs and communicate with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Maintain strict adherence to hospital policies, safety, and regulatory standards.

  • Participate in performance metrics, contribute to dashboards, and meet targets.

  • Maintain situational awareness to ensure safety of patients and staff.

  • Demonstrate adaptability by quickly integrating into new ED teams and shifts.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance patient flow and throughput.

  • Assist in training and mentoring junior staff when applicable.


Experience/Qualifications

  • Active RN license in California with Emergency Department certification preferred.

  • Ability to triage, assess, and initiate care for high-acuity ED patients quickly.

  • Minimum 1–3 years ED or emergency care experience as a travel nurse.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with EHR documentation and accurate patient recordkeeping.

  • Strong knowledge of IV management, medication administration, and emergency equipment handling.

  • Commitment to hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.

  • Effective communication and handoff skills with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Adaptability to join new ED teams, shifts, and perform under variable staffing.

  • Participation in performance metrics, dashboards, and target-driven outcomes.

  • Willingness to mentor junior staff and contribute to training when needed.
