    Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift (Contract)

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional licensure and with minimal supervision; evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans
    • Operate various ventilatory equipment (invasive and non-invasive), oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation
    • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and arterial puncture
    • Perform 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, and routine review of patient chest x-rays
    • Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; perform tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes
    • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines and insertion/removal of endotracheal tubes via freehand technique and/or video laryngoscope system
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license valid in the state of New Jersey
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
    • Ability to operate, maintain, and monitor mechanical ventilation on various types of equipment
    • Ability to work night shifts with minimal supervision
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with moderate complexity laboratory testing protocols including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation
    • Familiarity with PleurX catheter drainage and similar devices
    • Experience with video laryngoscope systems for endotracheal intubation
