    Key Responsibilities
    • Conduct physician-prescribed respiratory treatments using invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation
    • Perform suctioning, chest physiotherapy, oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and routine chest x-ray review
    • Perform arterial puncture, 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, and assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement
    • Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal and tracheostomy tubes; set up, self-test, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment
    • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with BLS and ACLS guidelines
    • Document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges accurately in the patient chart and respiratory care records; communicate findings to attending and pulmonary physicians
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license or eligibility to practice in the state of Kansas
    • Current BLS certification required
    • Current ACLS certification required
    • Ability to operate and maintain a wide range of ventilatory and respiratory care equipment with minimal supervision
    • Ability to evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans within the scope of professional licensure
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with video laryngoscope systems for endotracheal intubation
    • Familiarity with moderate complexity laboratory testing procedures including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation
    • Experience with PleurX catheter drainage or similar chest drainage devices
