Key Responsibilities

• Perform basic respiratory therapies including ABGs, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow oxygen across inpatient, ICU, ER, med-surg floors, and facility emergencies
• Manage and wean patients on mechanical ventilators; assist with intubation and extubation, and insert king airways in emergency situations prior to provider arrival
• Conduct EKGs and provide respiratory support for a primarily adult patient population, with minimal pediatric and neonatal coverage as needed
• Respond to high-risk deliveries on a very low-frequency basis when requested
• Complete timely and accurate charting in Cerner and perform charge verification
• Collaborate as part of a team, assisting fellow therapists and adapting to staffing needs when necessary

Required Qualifications

• Active RRT credential required (CRT not accepted)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS
• Proficiency with mechanical ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and core respiratory therapy treatments
• Experience with EKGs and intubation assist
• Must be able to clock in and out at the facility
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission date
• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility may be considered local and subject to adjusted rate eligibility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous travel therapy experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with ventilator models such as PB980, PB840, Servo-U, LTV1200, and Hamilton
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP devices including V60, ResMed home units, and Optiflow high-flow systems
• Comfort working independently in low-staffing situations and collaborating effectively in a team-based environment
