    Key Responsibilities
    • Provides intensive respiratory care and patient transport into and out of the facility as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional licensure and with minimal supervision
    • Conducts physician-prescribed treatments operating various ventilatory equipment (invasive and non-invasive), oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation
    • Performs chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, arterial puncture, and 12-Lead EKG with basic arrhythmia recognition
    • Performs tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes, and assists with procedures such as bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement
    • Sets up, self-tests, operates, maintains, and monitors mechanical ventilation on various types of equipment; assists with preventative maintenance and repair as needed
    • Records all pertinent treatment information and patient responses in respiratory care records and patient charts; maintains accurate respiratory therapy charging and communicates with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding therapy efficiency
    Required Qualifications
    • Active and valid Respiratory Therapist license
    • Current BLS and ACLS certification required
    • Proficiency with invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment and respiratory care procedures
    • Ability to perform arterial puncture, interpret results, and monitor ventilation efficiency
    • Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with video laryngoscope systems and endotracheal tube insertion and removal
    • Familiarity with moderate complexity laboratory testing policies and procedures
    • Experience with PleurX catheter drainage or similar devices
