    Job Title

    Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift

    Location

    Contract | Nights | 36 hours per week | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport into and out of the facility as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional licensure and with minimal supervision
    • Conduct physician-prescribed treatments utilizing invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation
    • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry and capnography monitoring, arterial puncture, pulmonary function studies, 12-Lead EKG, and basic arrhythmia recognition
    • Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; perform tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes in emergent and non-emergent situations
    • Set up, self-test, operate, maintain, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment; assist with preventative maintenance and repair as needed
    • Document all treatments and patient responses accurately in respiratory care records and the patient chart; communicate with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding therapy effectiveness and participate in shift-to-shift handoff communication
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license in good standing
    • Current BLS and ACLS certification
    • Proficiency with invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation and related respiratory care equipment
    • Ability to perform endotracheal intubation via freehand technique and/or video laryngoscope system
    • Competency in arterial puncture and interpretation of arterial blood gas results
    • Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with BLS and ACLS guidelines
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in a moderate complexity laboratory setting with knowledge of specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation protocols
    • Familiarity with PleurX catheter drainage or similar chest drainage devices
    • Experience with routine chest X-ray review to assess patient status and identify need for further evaluation
