    Key Responsibilities
    • Conduct physician-prescribed respiratory treatments including operation of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation.
    • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and routine chest x-ray review.
    • Perform arterial punctures, 12-Lead EKGs, basic arrhythmia recognition, and assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement.
    • Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal and tracheostomy tubes, set up and self-test ventilatory equipment, and manage mechanical ventilation across various equipment types.
    • Educate patients on the purpose and procedure of treatments, tests, and equipment, including discharge education for home care.
    • Accurately document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges in patient records and charts; communicate findings to attending and pulmonary physicians.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license within the applicable state.
    • Current BLS and ACLS certification.
    • Experience with ventilator management, including both invasive and non-invasive modalities.
    • Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines.
    • Proficiency in arterial puncture and interpretation of ventilation efficiency results.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and within the full scope of professional licensure.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with ventilator weaning protocols.
    • Familiarity with moderate complexity laboratory testing procedures including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation.
    • Experience with PleurX catheter drainage or similar chest drainage devices.
