Contract | Night Shift (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM) | Every other weekend required | Holiday coverage may be required
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor 5–6 ventilator patients per shift in an adult inpatient and emergency department setting
- Draw and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs) via arterial line and puncture
- Operate and manage ventilator equipment including 840/980, V60, Vapotherm, CPAP, and BiPAP
- Assist with intubations as needed alongside in-house hospitalists and intensivists
- Collaborate with shift leads and interdisciplinary team; therapist will never be the sole RT in-house
- Complete department-specific orientation prior to independent practice
Required Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred; CRT candidates may be considered
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Experience in critical care and mechanical ventilation
- Adult patient population experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Hands-on experience with Puritan Bennett 840/980 ventilators, Philips V60, and Vapotherm high-flow therapy
- Prior experience in an inpatient or emergency department respiratory therapy role
- Familiarity with arterial line management and ABG interpretation
