    Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional licensure and with minimal supervision
    • Conduct physician-prescribed treatments utilizing invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation
    • Perform arterial punctures, oximetry, capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, 12-Lead EKG, and basic arrhythmia recognition according to policy
    • Perform tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes, as well as insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes via free-hand technique and/or video laryngoscope system
    • Assist with respiratory-related procedures such as bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines
    • Document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges accurately in patient records and communicate findings during shift-to-shift handoff rounds
    Required Qualifications
    • Active and valid Respiratory Therapist license in the state of Michigan
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
    • Ability to operate and maintain a variety of mechanical ventilators and respiratory therapy equipment with minimal supervision
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with moderate complexity laboratory testing protocols including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation
    • Familiarity with PleurX catheter drainage and chest physiotherapy techniques
    • Experience performing pulmonary function studies and routine chest x-ray review
