    Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, operating invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices
    • Evaluate patients, recommend treatment plans, and conduct physician-prescribed respiratory treatments; explain procedures and equipment to patients and provide discharge education
    • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and arterial puncture
    • Perform 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, tracheostomy care, and insertion and removal of endotracheal and tracheostomy tubes
    • Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines
    • Accurately document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges; communicate patient status during shift-to-shift handoff rounds
    Required Qualifications
    • Active New Jersey State Respiratory Therapist licensure required
    • Current BLS and ACLS certification
    • Proficiency with mechanical ventilation setup, operation, and monitoring across various equipment types
    • Ability to perform arterial puncture and interpret results to assess ventilation efficiency
    • Experience with moderate complexity laboratory procedures including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation, where applicable
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience assisting with advanced procedures such as bronchoscopy and video laryngoscopy
    • Familiarity with PleurX catheter drainage and chest physiotherapy techniques
    • Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration with attending and pulmonary physicians
