    Job Title

    Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics

    Location

    Roanoke, VA

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide respiratory therapy services in a high-volume emergency department and Level I Trauma Center environment, including Neurotrauma, cardiovascular services, and medical/surgical ICU patients
    • Administer aerosol and medication delivery systems including mask, trach, MDI, and Medihaler; deliver medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, inhaled Flolan, racemic epinephrine, and related agents
    • Perform ABG interpretation and manage ventilators including BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, and mechanical ventilation weaning; troubleshoot high-pressure alarms
    • Perform airway management including extubation, oral/nasal airway placement, suctioning, sputum collection, and tracheostomy care
    • Set up and manage oxygen therapy and nebulizer equipment including handheld, T-piece, trach collar, and ultrasonic devices
    • Float within skillset as required and document all care using EPIC
    Required Qualifications
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) — CRT not accepted
    • Active Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner license; Virginia state license required (other state licenses accepted with requirement to obtain 90-day temporary authorization while Virginia permanent license is processed)
    • BLS and ACLS certifications required
    • Critical care experience in a high-volume ER or Level I Trauma Center setting
    • Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
    • Competency with equipment including Servo I, Servo U, V-60 BiPAP, Optiflow heated high flow, iNOvent, and LTV1200
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior travel therapy experience preferred (minimum 1 year)
    • Experience working with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
    • Familiarity with robust Assess and Treat protocols and ventilator management and liberation policies
