    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide intensive respiratory care including administration of physician-prescribed treatments using invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices.
    • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and arterial punctures.
    • Perform tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes, as well as insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes via free hand technique and/or video laryngoscope system.
    • Assist with respiratory-related procedures such as bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; perform adequate chest drainage via PleurX catheter or similar device where applicable.
    • Perform 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines, and routine review of patient chest x-rays.
    • Accurately document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges; communicate patient status during shift-to-shift handoff rounds and with attending physicians.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license within the applicable state scope of practice.
    • Current BLS and ACLS certification.
    • Demonstrated ability to operate, set up, and monitor mechanical ventilation and related respiratory equipment with minimal supervision.
    • Proficiency in arterial puncture, pulmonary function testing, and interpretation of ventilation efficiency results.
    • Ability to perform tracheostomy and endotracheal intubation procedures in both emergent and non-emergent settings.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in a moderate complexity laboratory setting with knowledge of specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation protocols.
    • Prior experience assisting with bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomy, or chest tube placement procedures.
    • Familiarity with patient education best practices for home discharge related to respiratory care.
