Key Responsibilities
- Deliver respiratory therapy treatments to an inpatient population, with approximately 25–30 acuities per shift managed across an average of 2 RTs depending on census
- Operate and manage mechanical ventilators as part of patient care
- Collaborate with in-house hospitalists and intensivists, as well as on-call providers during after-hours periods
- Document and manage patient care using Cerner EMR
- Work within a 24/7 RT department, supporting both pediatric and adult patient populations
- Coordinate with pharmacy services, including after-hours on-call pharmacy support
Required Qualifications
- Active California Respiratory Therapist license
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
- BLS, PALS, NRP, and ACLS certifications required
- Experience with both pediatric and adult patient populations required
- Proficiency with mechanical ventilators
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NICU experience preferred, though not required
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR
- Experience working in a high-acuity inpatient respiratory therapy setting
