Key Responsibilities
- Administer therapeutic respiratory treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff across all appropriate age levels
- Document treatment information and patient responses in the computerized medical record system
- Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring of patients
- Serve as a resource person to medical staff regarding respiratory care procedures and equipment
- Ensure respiratory equipment is properly cleaned and maintained and that all required records are kept current
- Participate as a member of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program
- Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
- Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (RRT credential required within 12 months of hire)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association required within 3 months of hire
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Two (2) or more years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting
- Familiarity with pulmonary and cardiac clinical decision-making across various patient age groups
- Proficiency with computer systems used in clinical documentation
