    Job Title

    Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide intensive respiratory care including operation of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices as physician prescribed
    • Perform arterial punctures, suctioning, chest physiotherapy, oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and 12-Lead EKG with basic arrhythmia recognition
    • Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; perform tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes
    • Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes via free-hand technique and/or video laryngoscope system; conduct cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines
    • Set up, self-test, operate, maintain, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment; facilitate preventative maintenance and repair as needed
    • Document all treatments and patient responses accurately in respiratory care records and patient charts; communicate with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding therapy effectiveness and participate in shift-to-shift handoff communication
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license in good standing
    • Current BLS and ACLS certification
    • Proficiency with invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen delivery systems, and aerosol devices
    • Ability to perform arterial punctures, pulmonary function studies, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation
    • Strong documentation skills with ability to maintain accurate respiratory therapy records and charging data
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with moderate complexity laboratory testing procedures including specimen handling, quality controls, and equipment maintenance
    • Familiarity with PleurX catheter drainage and video laryngoscope systems
    • Experience in an acute care or intensive care setting with minimal supervision
