    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide intensive respiratory care including administration of prescribed treatments using invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices
    • Perform arterial punctures, suctioning, oximetry and capnography monitoring, chest physiotherapy, pulmonary function studies, and 12-Lead EKG with basic arrhythmia recognition
    • Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; perform tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes
    • Set up, self-test, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment; facilitate preventative maintenance and repair as needed
    • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines; perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes via freehand technique and/or video laryngoscope
    • Accurately document all treatments, patient responses, respiratory care charges, and communicate patient status during shift-to-shift handoff rounds
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license or certification applicable to the state of practice
    • Current BLS and ACLS certification
    • Demonstrated ability to operate and monitor various types of ventilatory and respiratory care equipment
    • Ability to perform arterial punctures, interpret blood gas results, and assess ventilation efficiency
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and within the full scope of professional licensure
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in an intensive care or high-acuity respiratory care setting
    • Familiarity with moderate complexity laboratory testing procedures including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation
    • Experience with PleurX catheter drainage and video laryngoscope systems
