    Job Title

    Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift

    Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provides intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional licensure and with minimal supervision; evaluates patients and recommends treatment plans
    • Operates various ventilatory equipment (invasive and non-invasive), oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation
    • Performs chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and arterial puncture
    • Performs 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, routine chest x-ray review, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines
    • Assists with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; performs tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes
    • Records all treatment information and patient responses in respiratory care records and the patient chart; maintains accurate respiratory therapy charging and communicates with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding therapy effectiveness
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license in good standing
    • Current BLS certification required
    • Current ACLS certification required
    • Ability to operate and maintain mechanical ventilation equipment and perform equipment self-tests
    • Ability to perform arterial puncture and interpret results to assess ventilation efficiency
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with video laryngoscope systems and free-hand endotracheal intubation technique
    • Familiarity with moderate complexity laboratory testing protocols including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation
    • Experience with PleurX catheter drainage or similar chest drainage devices
