    Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide intensive respiratory care including operation of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices as physician prescribed
    • Perform arterial punctures, oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, chest physiotherapy, and patient suctioning via oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal methods
    • Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes
    • Perform 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines, and endotracheal tube insertion and removal
    • Set up, self-test, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment; assist with preventative maintenance and repair as needed
    • Accurately document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges; communicate patient status during shift-to-shift handoff rounds
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license within the state of Ohio
    • Current BLS and ACLS certification
    • Demonstrated ability to operate and monitor various ventilatory and respiratory care equipment
    • Ability to perform arterial punctures and interpret results to assess ventilation efficiency
    • Ability to perform routine chest x-ray review and pulmonary function studies
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and within the full scope of professional licensure
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in a moderate complexity laboratory setting with knowledge of specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation protocols
    • Experience with video laryngoscope systems for endotracheal intubation
    • Familiarity with PleurX catheter or similar chest drainage devices
