    Key Responsibilities
    • Provides intensive respiratory care and patient transport into and out of the facility as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional licensure and with minimal supervision; evaluates patients and recommends treatment plans
    • Conducts physician-prescribed treatments operating various ventilatory equipment (invasive and non-invasive), oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation
    • Performs chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, arterial puncture, and routine chest x-ray review
    • Performs 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, tracheostomy care, and insertion/removal of tracheostomy and endotracheal tubes (emergent and non-emergent)
    • Assists with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines
    • Documents all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges accurately; communicates with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding therapy effectiveness; may be required to float within the market
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license in good standing
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
    • Ability to operate and maintain a wide range of ventilatory and respiratory equipment with minimal supervision
    • Ability to perform arterial puncture and interpret results to assess ventilation efficiency
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with moderate complexity laboratory testing protocols including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation
    • Familiarity with video laryngoscope systems for endotracheal intubation
    • Experience with PleurX catheter drainage or similar devices
