    Key Responsibilities
    • Provides intensive respiratory care including operation of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation
    • Performs arterial puncture, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), chest physiotherapy, oximetry, capnography monitoring, and pulmonary function studies
    • Performs tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes (emergent and non-emergent), as well as insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes via free hand technique and/or video laryngoscope
    • Assists with respiratory-related procedures such as bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; performs 12-Lead EKG and basic arrhythmia recognition
    • Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with BLS and ACLS guidelines
    • Documents all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges accurately in patient records and communicates findings to attending and pulmonary physicians
    Required Qualifications
    • Active and valid Respiratory Therapist license or certification applicable to the state of practice
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
    • Ability to operate and maintain a variety of ventilatory and respiratory care equipment with minimal supervision
    • Ability to perform within the full scope of a professional Respiratory Therapist license
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with moderate complexity laboratory testing procedures including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation
    • Familiarity with PleurX catheter drainage and similar chest drainage devices
    • Experience with video laryngoscope systems for endotracheal intubation
