Travel Respiratory Therapy Technician in Gulfport, MS

Perform 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes, and endotracheal tube insertion and removal via free-hand technique and/or video laryngoscope system. Key Responsibilities

• Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport into and out of the facility as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional licensure and with minimal supervision; evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans
• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments utilizing invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation
• Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, arterial puncture, and routine chest x-ray review
• Perform 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes, and endotracheal tube insertion and removal via free-hand technique and/or video laryngoscope system
• Assist with respiratory-related procedures such as bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines
• Accurately document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges; communicate with attending and pulmonary physicians and participate in shift-to-shift handoff communication

Required Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license in good standing
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Ability to operate and maintain a wide range of ventilatory and respiratory equipment with minimal supervision
• Competency in arterial puncture, pulmonary function testing, and moderate complexity laboratory procedures where applicable

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with video laryngoscope systems for endotracheal intubation
• Familiarity with PleurX catheter or similar chest drainage devices
• Prior experience assisting with bronchoscopy and percutaneous tracheostomy procedures
