    Job Title

    Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift

    Location

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 32 hours per week | Nights | 6:30 PM – 1:30 AM, five days per week | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Evaluate patients and develop treatment plans; conduct physician-prescribed respiratory treatments including operation of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices
    • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and arterial puncture
    • Perform 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, and routine review of patient chest x-rays
    • Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; perform tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes
    • Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes via freehand technique and/or video laryngoscope; set up, self-test, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment
    • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with BLS and ACLS guidelines; document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges accurately
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license valid in the state of Kentucky
    • Current BLS certification required
    • Current ACLS certification required
    • Ability to operate and maintain a wide range of ventilatory and respiratory therapy equipment with minimal supervision
    • Competency in arterial puncture, pulmonary function testing, and moderate complexity laboratory procedures where applicable
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with video laryngoscope systems for endotracheal intubation
    • Familiarity with PleurX catheter or similar chest drainage devices
    • Experience communicating clinical findings with attending and pulmonary physicians in a fast-paced hospital environment
