    Respiratory Therapist

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Rotating shifts, primarily 12-hour shifts with some 8-hour shifts; every other weekend and holidays required. Weekend and straight night status may be considered.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Perform respiratory therapy assessments and protocol-driven care for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders or associated complications
    • Manage ventilator and non-invasive ventilation (NIV) therapy; assist with intubations, bedside tracheostomy placements, tracheostomy changes, decannulations, and extubations
    • Conduct arterial punctures and blood gas analysis; administer medication delivery and airway clearance therapies
    • Assist with bedside bronchoscopy and participate in emergency response teams and ICU rounds
    • Facilitate patient intrahospital transport and contribute to interdisciplinary ICU rounding
    • May float to other campus locations within the Fargo area as operationally needed
    Required Qualifications
    • Minimum 2 years of recent respiratory therapy experience
    • Level 1 trauma and ICU experience required
    • Experience working in a facility with 300 or more beds
    • Active North Dakota state license (NDSBRC) required; candidates willing to apply within 72 hours of offer acceptance will be considered — licensure processing may take 3 to 6 weeks
    • BLS certification through AHA required
    • Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and may be subject to adjusted rates
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Emergency department (ER) experience preferred
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through NBRC preferred; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) will be considered
    • ACLS and PALS certifications through AHA preferred
    • Experience in Adult/NICU or Adult/PICU rotation settings is a plus
