    Key Responsibilities
    • Provides intensive respiratory care including operation of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation
    • Performs arterial punctures, pulmonary function studies, oximetry and capnography monitoring, chest physiotherapy, and patient suctioning via oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal methods
    • Performs 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, and routine review of patient chest x-rays
    • Assists with procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; performs tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes
    • Performs insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes via freehand technique and/or video laryngoscope; performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines
    • Documents all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges accurately in patient records and communicates findings to attending and pulmonary physicians
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license or certification valid in the state of Indiana
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
    • Ability to operate and maintain mechanical ventilation equipment and perform equipment set-up and self-testing
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision within the scope of professional licensure
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with moderate complexity laboratory testing procedures including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation
    • Experience with PleurX catheter drainage or similar chest drainage devices
    • Familiarity with video laryngoscope systems for endotracheal intubation
