    Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide intensive respiratory care including operation of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation.
    • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and arterial punctures.
    • Perform 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, and routine review of patient chest x-rays to determine need for further evaluation.
    • Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes.
    • Set up, self-test, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment; assist with preventative maintenance and repair as needed.
    • Document all treatments and patient responses accurately in respiratory care records and patient charts; communicate with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding therapy effectiveness and participate in shift-to-shift handoff communication.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license in good standing.
    • Current BLS and ACLS certification.
    • Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines.
    • Competency in insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes via freehand technique and/or video laryngoscope system.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision within the scope of professional licensure.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in a moderate complexity laboratory setting with knowledge of specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation protocols.
    • Experience with PleurX catheter drainage or similar chest drainage devices.
    • Strong communication skills with multidisciplinary care teams including physicians and nursing staff.
