Key Responsibilities
Deliver competent respiratory care procedures including airway management, bag/mask ventilation, suctioning, and use of artificial airways as ordered by physician
Initiate, maintain, and monitor ventilator patients; interpret flow volume and pressure volume curves to guide appropriate clinical changes
Perform arterial blood gas draws and assess patient respiratory status to recommend and document appropriate therapeutic interventions
Administer respiratory medications with the ability to translate dosing for neonatal, pediatric, and geriatric patient populations using appropriate equipment and techniques
Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all respiratory care procedures and enter daily services and charges into the department system
Assist in orientation and training of new employees and respiratory or nursing students as needed
Required Qualifications
Graduate of a COARC-approved Respiratory Care Program with Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential issued by the NBRC
BLS certification required (must be obtained within 90 days of hire)
NRP certification required (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
Preferred Experience / Skills
At least one year of respiratory therapy experience in a hospital setting
Experience with pulmonary diagnostics
Experience with cardiac diagnostics including EKG, Holter monitor, event monitor, and cardiac stress testing
