Key Responsibilities
- Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation for a patient population ranging from infants to geriatrics, with a primary focus on adult patients; experience with pediatric intubated patients required
- Perform arterial blood gas and capillary blood gas sampling, as well as arterial line placement and draws from lines
- Administer aerosol therapy, manage oxygen delivery, and conduct bedside pulmonary function tests (spirometry)
- Provide patient education and support across a Level 2 trauma center environment, including an interventional stroke-certified unit and a Level 3 NICU that serves as a regional transport resource
- Operate unit systems including Epic, Pyxis, Viasys Vela, Viasys Avea, and GE Carescape
- Float within the facility and to a sister campus as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist; first-time travelers are accepted
- Active Georgia RRT License required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- Trauma experience required
- Local candidates are welcome and accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with pulmonary function testing and spirometry
- Familiarity with NICU or neonatal/pediatric respiratory care environments
- Prior experience in a Level 2 or higher trauma center setting
