Key Responsibilities
- Manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation for a patient population spanning infants through geriatrics, with a primary focus on adult patients and exposure to pediatric intubated patients
- Perform and interpret arterial blood gases and capillary blood gases, including draws from lines and arterial line placement
- Administer aerosol therapy, manage oxygen delivery, and conduct bedside pulmonary function tests (spirometry)
- Provide care in a Level 2 trauma center environment, including support for interventional stroke-certified and Level 3 NICU units
- Operate unit systems including Epic, Pyxis, Viasys Vela, Viasys Avea, and GE Carescape
- Deliver patient education and utilize SBAR communication standards; float within the facility and to a sister campus as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist; first-time travelers accepted
- Active Georgia RRT License required at time of submission
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Trauma experience required
- Must work every other weekend unless otherwise specified
- Holiday coverage expected per facility policy: travelers working one or two major holidays during their assignment are expected to work those holidays; travelers with three major holidays in their assignment period are expected to work two of them
- All requested time off (max 7 days per contract) must be finalized at time of submission; no RTO or schedule requests may be made post-offer or on-site, including during orientation week
- Local candidates are welcome and accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Pulmonary function testing (spirometry) experience preferred
- Familiarity with NICU environments and neonatal/pediatric respiratory care
- Prior experience in a Level 2 trauma or stroke-certified facility
