    Key Responsibilities
    • Provides intensive respiratory care including operation of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation
    • Performs chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), oximetry and capnography monitoring, and pulmonary function studies
    • Performs arterial puncture, 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, and routine review of patient chest x-rays
    • Assists with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; performs tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes
    • Performs insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes via free hand technique and/or video laryngoscope; performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines
    • Records all treatment information and patient responses in respiratory care records and patient chart; communicates with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding therapy efficiency
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license valid in the state of Ohio
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
    • Ability to operate and maintain mechanical ventilation equipment and perform equipment set-up and self-testing
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision within the scope of professional licensure
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with moderate complexity laboratory testing protocols including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation
    • Experience performing PleurX catheter drainage or similar chest drainage devices
    • Familiarity with shift-to-shift walking rounds and hands-off communication practices
