    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide intensive respiratory care including operation of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices as physician prescribed
    • Perform arterial punctures, suctioning, chest physiotherapy, oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and 12-Lead EKG with basic arrhythmia recognition
    • Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; perform tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes
    • Set up, self-test, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment; assist with preventative maintenance and repair as needed
    • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines; perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes via freehand technique and/or video laryngoscope
    • Accurately document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges; communicate patient status during shift-to-shift handoff rounds
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license within the applicable state
    • Current BLS and ACLS certification
    • Demonstrated ability to operate and monitor a variety of ventilatory and respiratory care equipment
    • Ability to perform arterial punctures, pulmonary function studies, and interpret chest x-rays for further evaluation needs
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision within the scope of professional licensure
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in a moderate complexity laboratory setting with knowledge of specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation requirements
    • Familiarity with PleurX catheter drainage procedures or similar devices
    • Experience with video laryngoscope systems for endotracheal intubation
