Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-Hour Shifts) | Expected 36–48 hours/week | Every other weekend required | Must work 2 of 3 winter holidays; time off around Christmas is not available
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory therapy services within a Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics unit during overnight shifts
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures within scope of practice
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to support patient treatment plans
- Float to other units within scope of practice as operationally needed
- Complete facility-required orientation modules as assigned
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Epic electronic health record system
Required Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Active Virginia Respiratory Therapist license required; pending license accepted provided it is obtained before the Wednesday prior to start date (must hold an active license in another state to be eligible for a temporary Virginia license)
- Minimum 2 years of experience required; candidates with 4+ years of experience preferred
- Epic experience required
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for select units per facility policy)
- Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract; all time-off requests must be disclosed at time of submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification preferred
- 4 or more years of respiratory therapy experience
- Prior travel or contract assignment experience
