    Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | Onsite | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend, every other holiday; must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide respiratory therapy services within a children's hospital setting, including care for NICU and PICU patient populations
    • Perform neuro diagnostics functions as assigned within scope of practice
    • Participate in a self-scheduling model; scheduling requests will be accommodated to the extent possible but a specific schedule cannot be guaranteed
    • Float within scope of practice to other units as operationally needed
    • Comply with all facility policies, including time-off limitations of a maximum of 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract period
    • Complete specialty-specific orientation modules (up to 16 non-billable hours) as recorded in the facility's workforce management system
    Required Qualifications
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
    • BLS certification required
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
    • Active Virginia Respiratory Therapist license required; candidates with a pending VA license may be considered provided a temporary license can be obtained before the start date — an active license in another state is required to be eligible for a temporary VA license
    • Level 4 NICU experience required
    • Epic EMR experience required
    • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Cardiac PICU experience preferred
    • Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification preferred
