    Key Responsibilities
    • Administer competent respiratory care including airway management, mechanical ventilator management, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and respiratory care procedures designed to assess, prevent, stabilize, or remedy respiratory dysfunction.
    • Provide all aspects of airway management including aspiration of established airways, tracheostomy care, tracheostomy tube changes, endotracheal intubations and extubations.
    • Perform and manage all aspects of ventilator care, including setup, verification, use of specialized ventilator modes, patient monitoring, and appropriate weaning techniques.
    • Transport pediatric and neonatal patients from referral hospitals and perform advanced practice procedures including UAC, UVC, IV insertion, chest tube insertion, needle decompression, ABGs, and blood glucose monitoring per air care protocol.
    • Manage extracorporeal circulation for cardiac and respiratory support of patients when assigned to ECMO.
    • May be required to be on-call days, nights, weekends, and holidays; functions independently with minimal supervision and serves as a resource to other staff.
    Required Qualifications
    • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
    • Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
    • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
    • At least one of the following certifications required depending upon practice area: ACLS, NRP, PALS, CPFT, or advanced practice certificate to administer moderate sedation in Bronchoscopy Lab.
    • All certifications must be maintained as required by the certifying body.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical information, technical procedures, and an extensive variety of technical situations.
