Key Responsibilities
Provide respiratory therapy services across varied patient populations including all ages, with a primary focus on adult patients and NICU
Operate and manage specialized ventilator equipment including Drager, Jet, and Oscillator ventilators
Float across different units throughout the hospital as needed
Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic medical records system
Participate in holiday coverage as required by unit scheduling needs
Required Qualifications
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential — CRTs will not be considered
Minimum 24 months of RRT/Respiratory Therapy experience in a hospital setting
Minimum 36 months of current RRT/Respiratory Therapy experience reflected in work history
Level III NICU experience within the last 15 months; NICU experience within the last 18 months
Hands-on experience with Jet ventilator, Drager ventilator, and Oscillator ventilator
Active EPIC EMR experience
Must have completed at least one travel assignment within the past 15 months — first-time travelers will not be considered
Active certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS (AHA or ARC), PALS (AHA), NRP, and NBRC
Active Iowa Respiratory Therapy license or currently in the licensing process
Valid Driver's License
Respiratory Therapy-specific Skills Checklist required at time of submission
Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
Preferred Experience / Skills
Iowa (IDPH) Respiratory Care license already active at time of submission
Iowa Department of Public Health / Respiratory Care and Polysomnography documentation
