    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport, evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans within the scope of professional licensure.
    • Conduct physician-prescribed respiratory treatments using invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation.
    • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and arterial punctures.
    • Perform 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, tracheostomy care, and insertion/removal of endotracheal and tracheostomy tubes using freehand technique and/or video laryngoscope systems.
    • Set up, self-test, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment; assist with preventative maintenance and repair as needed.
    • Accurately document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges; communicate effectively with attending and pulmonary physicians and participate in shift-to-shift handoff communication.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license in good standing.
    • Current BLS and ACLS certification.
    • Proficiency with invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen delivery systems, and aerosol devices.
    • Ability to perform arterial puncture, pulmonary function studies, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation per established guidelines.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple patient care responsibilities during a 12-hour shift.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience assisting with bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement procedures.
    • Familiarity with moderate complexity laboratory testing protocols including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation.
    • Experience with PleurX catheter drainage or similar chest drainage devices.
