    Key Responsibilities
    • Provides intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional license and with minimal supervision, including evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans
    • Conducts physician-prescribed treatments operating various ventilatory equipment (invasive and non-invasive), oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation
    • Performs chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, arterial puncture, and routine review of patient chest x-rays
    • Performs 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines
    • Performs tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes, and assists with procedures such as bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement
    • Records all pertinent treatment information and patient responses in respiratory care records and patient charts; maintains accurate respiratory therapy charging including data entry and error correction
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license in good standing
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
    • Ability to operate and maintain mechanical ventilation equipment and perform equipment set-up and self-testing
    • Competency in arterial puncture, endotracheal intubation via free-hand technique and/or video laryngoscope, and related respiratory procedures
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in a moderate complexity laboratory setting with knowledge of specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation protocols
    • Familiarity with PleurX catheter drainage and similar chest drainage devices
    • Experience communicating clinical findings with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding therapy efficiency
