    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional licensure and with minimal supervision
    • Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation
    • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, arterial puncture, and 12-Lead EKG with basic arrhythmia recognition
    • Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; perform tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes
    • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with BLS and ACLS guidelines; perform endotracheal intubation via freehand technique and/or video laryngoscope
    • Set up, self-test, operate, maintain, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment; document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges accurately
    Required Qualifications
    • Current and active Virginia Respiratory Therapist license
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
    • Ability to operate and maintain various ventilatory and respiratory care equipment with minimal supervision
    • Competency in arterial puncture, pulmonary function testing, and moderate complexity laboratory procedures where applicable
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with video laryngoscopy systems for endotracheal intubation
    • Familiarity with PleurX catheter drainage and chest physiotherapy techniques
    • Experience in an acute care or intensive care setting
