    Key Responsibilities
    • Provides intensive respiratory care including operation of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation
    • Performs chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), oximetry and capnography monitoring, and pulmonary function studies
    • Performs arterial puncture, 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, and routine review of patient chest x-rays
    • Assists with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; performs tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes
    • Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with BLS and ACLS guidelines
    • Records all pertinent treatment information and patient responses in respiratory care records and patient charts; maintains accurate respiratory therapy charging and communicates with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding therapy effectiveness
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist license or certification required
    • Current BLS and ACLS certification required
    • Ability to operate and maintain various mechanical ventilators and respiratory therapy equipment with minimal supervision
    • Competency in performing arterial punctures, endotracheal intubation (freehand and/or video laryngoscope), and tracheostomy management
    • Ability to evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans within the scope of professional licensure
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in moderate complexity laboratory testing including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation
    • Familiarity with PleurX catheter drainage procedures
    • Experience with shift-to-shift walking rounds and hands-off communication protocols
