Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU/PEDS position at a Level II Trauma Center with a Level III NICU, requiring an RRT and minimum 2 years of experience.

Details

  • Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Level II Pediatric Trauma, and teaching hospital with 417 beds
  • Works within the Respiratory Therapy department
  • Cares for pediatric critical care, neonatal critical care, and general inpatient respiratory patients
  • 6/12 hour variable shift schedule at 36 hours per week
  • Weekend rotation every other weekend
  • On call not typically required except for planned events
  • Floats throughout the hospital and ED but not to other facilities
  • EPIC EMR required; Omnicell also used
  • Utilizes ventilators including Draeger V500, Savina 300, 3100A Oscillator, and Hamilton C1/MRI
  • Uses ResMed APAP, CPAP, and Bi-level devices
  • Uses Airvo2 high flow devices, Cough Assist, Incourage vest, ABL90 blood gas machines, IPV, and Praxair iNO

Requirements

  • RRT required; CRT may be considered based on experience
  • South Dakota RCP License required prior to consideration (license required if applicable)
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
  • NRP certification required if working in NICU
  • AA degree required
  • Critical care and general respiratory care experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • First-time travelers considered upon manager review with strong experience

Additional Information

  • Provide respiratory care to pediatric, neonatal, and general inpatient patient populations
  • Supported by Charge RT/Respiratory Clinical Specialist 24/7 along with supervisors, manager, and director
  • Orientation provided at the facility's Respiratory Care Department
  • Expected to work holidays that fall within the contract dates
  • May request up to 7 days off if the department can accommodate; a full week off requires extending the contract
  • Pewter colored scrubs required
  • Free parking available
  • 100 mile radius rule applies; local candidates within this radius are not accepted
  • Facility is known for being traveler-friendly and frequently renews travel contracts
