Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist II - Pediatrics with 2+ years of experience in a hospital setting and RRT certification for a night shift assignment.

Details

  • Work in the Pediatric Respiratory Care Services department of a medical center
  • Care for pediatric, NICU, and/or PICU patient populations
  • Night shift, 7:00pm - 7:00am, 3 shifts per week, 36 hours weekly
  • On-call requirement of 1 weekend per 6 weeks
  • Weekend requirement of 6 shifts per 6 weeks
  • Must be able to work holidays as needed
  • Uses EPIC EMR
  • No ECMO required
  • Oscillator experience required

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting
  • At least 2 years of experience with Peds, NICU, and/or PICU populations
  • Oscillator experience within the last 5 years
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the NBRC
  • At least one of the following required depending on practice area: ACLS, NRP, PALS, or CPFT, or an advanced practice certificate to administer moderate sedation in the Bronchoscopy Lab
  • License required if applicable
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical information and technical procedures
  • Ability to document clinical information accurately
  • Strong communication skills with patients, physicians, family members, and staff
  • Skilled in airway management, ventilator setup, monitoring, and weaning techniques
  • Experience with tracheostomy care, endotracheal intubation, and extubation

Additional Information

  • Administer respiratory care including airway management, mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, and aerosol therapy
  • Perform pulmonary function testing and bedside procedures as needed
  • Provide tracheostomy care, tube changes, and endotracheal intubation/extubation
  • May transport pediatric and neonatal patients per specialized air care protocols when assigned to Carolina Air Care
  • May manage extracorporeal circulation for cardiac and respiratory support when assigned to ECMO
  • Function independently with minimal supervision while serving as a clinical resource to other staff
  • Maintain and continually improve respiratory therapy knowledge and skills
