Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a hospital night shift position requiring current RRT licensure and at least 1 year of specialty experience.

Details

  • Hospital-based Respiratory Therapy department
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts, varied schedule
  • 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
  • Uses Epic for charting
  • May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency
  • May be required to take on-call during a regularly scheduled shift

Requirements

  • Graduate of a NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program from an accredited institution
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the NBRC
  • Current Respiratory Therapy license in the state of practice required; license required if applicable
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS, NALS, and PALS certifications required and must not expire prior to start
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty being applied for
  • Date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provides advanced-level respiratory care to diagnose, evaluate, treat, and manage cardiopulmonary conditions per physician orders
  • Performs and interprets diagnostic testing, obtains arterial blood gases, and initiates respiratory protocols
  • Administers medications and evaluates patient response according to protocol
  • Communicates patient status and care recommendations to physicians and nursing staff
  • Educates patients and families on health promotion, wellness, and self-care techniques
  • Completes documentation and monitors equipment and supply needs
  • Participates in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
  • Acts as a resource and mentor to CRT staff and may support special clinical projects
  • Participates in departmental meetings and quality improvement research activities
  • Returning Intermountain employees must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before eligibility for a travel assignment
