Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (Adults) with 2+ years of acute care and critical care experience for a Level II trauma center in Reno, NV.

Details

  • Work within the Respiratory Care Services department at a Level II trauma center
  • Care for patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric ages, with primary focus on adult critical care, general care, and pediatric general care units
  • 3x12 schedule with rotating days of the week and varied shifts
  • 36 guaranteed weekly hours
  • May float to other departments within competency level as needed
  • Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
  • Facility uses Epic charting system with training available during orientation or option to test out

Requirements

  • Active RRT license required
  • Nevada State License required; must apply for State of Nevada Point of Care Analyst, Director of Point of Care, or General Supervisor of Point of Care license prior to start (license required if applicable)
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required prior to start
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care respiratory therapy experience required
  • Recent critical care experience required
  • Completion of at least one prior 13-week travel assignment within the past year required

Additional Information

  • Perform respiratory therapy procedures per protocol and physician orders to improve cardiopulmonary conditions across patient age groups
  • Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans under established protocols
  • Maintain thorough documentation of patient records and department logs
  • Stay current with technological advances and clinical applications in respiratory care
  • Focus on delivering a positive patient experience through clear communication and service recovery techniques
  • Facility is an extremely busy, fast-paced Level II trauma center with stroke accreditation, serving a 500-mile radius with 800 inpatient beds and 80 ER beds
  • Minimum of 2 major holidays required to be worked during the assignment
  • May be required to pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • A 13-week break is required after a traveler completes a contract at this facility before returning
  • Candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • Requested time off must be submitted with the application and will not be added to the end of the contract
