Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with adult critical care and emergency department experience for a night shift position rotating between acute and long-term care settings.

Details

  • Rotates between acute care and long-term care (LTC) settings
  • Treats adult patients with CHF, COPD, pneumonia, respiratory failure, and respiratory infections
  • Performs ABG sampling, ventilator management, patient assessment, and pulmonary hygiene
  • Uses Hamilton, Servo-U, NKV330, AirVo2, Dream Machines, and V30 ventilator equipment
  • Patient ratio of 1:20
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
  • Works every other weekend
  • On-call required approximately 1 night every other week
  • Floating required
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active RRT certification required
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required
  • Adult critical care experience required
  • Emergency department experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience with 1:20 patient ratio required
  • Skilled in airway management including extubation, intubation assist, and tracheostomy care
  • Skilled in nebulizer therapy including hand held, T-piece, and trach collar delivery
  • Skilled in oxygen therapy including bag and mask, ET tube, HFNC, T-piece, and trach collar
  • Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, alarm troubleshooting, and weaning
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • NY state license required in hand for consideration
  • License required if applicable
  • Candidates must not reside within 75 miles of the facility

Additional Information

  • Scrubs must be any shade of gray or gray/black combination
  • Candidates with more than 10 days of requested RTO will not be considered
  • Candidates must be available for a full 13-week assignment
