Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years Adult Critical Care experience and Trauma Level I background for a night shift assignment at a hospital in Greenville, SC.

Details

  • Adult and geriatric patient population
  • Adult Critical Care work setting with Trauma Level I experience
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Every other weekend required, subject to change as needed
  • Floating to other qualified units or campuses may be required based on census needs
  • Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks

Requirements

  • Active RRT license required (license required if applicable)
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
  • Trauma Level I experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR required
  • Proficient in extubation, nasal/oral airway placement, suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care
  • Experienced administering medications including albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids, Isuprel, lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, terbutaline sulfate, tobramycin, and Xopenex
  • Experience with aerosol mask/trach setups, Medihaler, and Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI) delivery systems
  • Experience with hand held, T-piece, and trach collar nebulizers
  • Experience with high flow nasal cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy
  • Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, ventilator alarm troubleshooting, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
  • Ability to interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
  • Pending license not accepted; must have active RRT license in South Carolina in hand

Additional Information

  • Deliver respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients in a Trauma Level I hospital setting
  • Collaborate with the critical care team to manage ventilator support, airway management, and medication delivery
  • Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance requirements
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this role
  • Local candidates accepted subject to radius rule requirements
  • Radius rule applies: night shift RRTs must be located 50+ miles from the contracted campus for eligibility, with full rate at 100+ miles
