Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of recent critical care experience for a day shift position with every-other-weekend rotation.

Details

  • 13-week assignment in a 396-bed hospital respiratory care unit
  • Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45am-7:15pm, with holiday rotation
  • Every other weekend required
  • Must be able to float within scope to all areas of the hospital, including labor and delivery
  • No floating to sister facilities
  • No on-call requirement
  • Patient ratio of 1:8
  • Epic EMR used, experience required
  • Caribbean Blue scrub color

Requirements

  • Active RRT certification required, CRT not accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of recent critical care experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, and NBRC (RRT)
  • AHA-issued certifications only
  • South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (RCP) license required if applicable, must be in hand at time of start
  • All certifications must be in hand at time of start
  • Prior travel experience required, first-time travelers not accepted
  • Driver's license and Social Security number required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
  • Experience with airway management including intubation and extubation assist, tracheostomy care, and suctioning
  • Proficient in ABG interpretation and basic EKG
  • Experience with neonatal/pediatric care including high-risk delivery assistance and CPAP/BiPAP
  • Familiarity with a range of respiratory medications and delivery systems including nebulizers, MDIs, and high flow nasal cannula
  • May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, peak August-September)
  • Free parking available onsite
  • Block scheduling not accommodated
  • Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Local candidates within 60 miles are not accepted; MUSC prioritizes non-local candidates
  • All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for approval consideration
