Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) for a pediatric respiratory care unit requiring Level I experience and previous work in a children's-only hospital preferred.

• Work in the Respiratory Care department providing services across all appropriate age levels
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• 26-week contracts with guaranteed 48 hours per week
• Level I experience required
• Previous work in a children's only hospital preferred

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program
• Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (license required if applicable)
• Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care
• Current BLS (AHA) required upon hire
• ACLS (AHA) required within 3 months of hire
• RRT credential required within 12 months of hire
• Minimum of 1 year of experience required
• Two years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred
• NIHSS certification required
• AHA-issued certifications only

Additional Information

• Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff
• Document treatment information and patient responses in the computerized medical record
• Serve as a resource person to medical staff
• Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring of patients
• Provide age-appropriate patient care
• Maintain and clean respiratory equipment and therapy records
• Serve as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
• Does not accept local candidates within a 50-mile radius
• Returning workers may extend only once for a total of 26 weeks and require a 6-month separation before reapplying
• Facility strictly enforces compliance deadlines and does not allow push starts
